Drywall & gypsum board

Drywall can fill a room faster than expected, and wet or layered board can become much heavier than it looks. Tell us the wall or ceiling area, whether it is dry, and where it is staged so we can plan the loading and haul-away.

Drywall has sheet-based measurement, moisture-sensitive weight, gypsum-specific disposal chemistry, and recycling constraints that do not apply to plaster, carpet, or masonry.

Plaster & lath

Plaster and lath is heavier, sharper, and dustier than ordinary drywall. Photos of the broken material and a rough wall or ceiling area help us choose safer containers, carrying methods, and load sizes.

Plaster requires assembly-depth, lath, historic-material, dust, and sharp-edge analysis that would be misleading on a drywall page.

Concrete

Concrete gets heavy fast, so a pile can reach a safe hauling limit before it looks full. Share the original slab dimensions, piece size, reinforcement, and access so we can plan the right number and type of loads.

Concrete has reliable solid-volume math, extreme payload implications, reinforcement, breaking-size, silica, and clean-aggregate recovery questions that differ from brick and block.

Brick

A broken brick pile is heavy debris, but intact pavers or historic brick may be worth keeping separate. Show us how much is whole, how much is rubble, and whether mortar or coatings are attached before the load is mixed.

Brick has unit-by-unit salvage potential, mortar-bond and historic-match questions that concrete and block do not share.

Masonry block

Concrete block may be hollow, fully grouted, reinforced, or still attached to stucco and footings—and those differences change the weight sharply. A wall photo, dimensions, and notes about steel or grout give us a reliable starting point.

CMU has cell grouting, bond beams, vertical reinforcement, stucco, and wall-assembly math distinct from unit brick and solid concrete.

Carpet & padding

Carpet is bulky, and loose rolls, wet padding, tack strips, or glue-down sections can make a simple room count misleading. Tell us the floor area, installation type, and whether the carpet is already removed and rolled.

Carpet has rolls, pad, tack strips, glue-down systems, stairs, contamination, and carpet-specific recovery specifications absent from hard flooring.

Flooring systems

Flooring removal often reveals more than one layer: finish flooring, pad or underlayment, adhesive, mortar, and trim. Tell us what is on top and what is coming up with it so the removal plan matches the real assembly.

A flooring plan has to identify the full assembly first; carpet and tile then follow their own handling, measurement, and disposal paths.

Tile & mortar

Tile debris is sharp and dense, and the mortar bed underneath can weigh more than the finish tile. Share the square footage, assembly depth, and access so we can plan containers and loads without guessing from the pile alone.

Tile combines finish, setting material, backer, mesh, sharp fragments, and silica-intensive surface preparation in a way no broad flooring page can fully answer.

Lumber & wood

Long boards and broken framing create empty space in a load, while wet, painted, or treated wood can change where it goes. Tell us the longest pieces, the wood condition, and what nails or other materials remain attached.

Wood requires treatment/coating identification, de-nailing, long-piece geometry, engineered-wood separation, and reuse quality grading.

Roofing debris gets heavy quickly, especially when several tear-off layers or wet material are involved. Give us the roof squares, material type, layer count, and ground staging area so pickups can follow the roofing schedule.

Roofing has square-based measurement, layered tear-off, product-system variation, seasonal heat, nail hazards, and roofing-specific asbestos and recycling questions.

Cabinet boxes take up more truck space than their weight suggests, and countertops or connected fixtures need their own plan. Count the boxes and loose panels, then tell us what is already detached and ready to carry out.

Cabinets combine detachment boundaries, reusable components, engineered panels, hardware, built-in utilities, and highly inefficient volume.

Countertops can be extremely heavy, awkward to carry, and easy to fracture even when they occupy little space. Tell us the material, dimensions, floor, and whether sinks, plumbing, appliances, or glass are already disconnected.

Countertops and fixtures combine concentrated weight, fracture risk, long carries, cutouts, live utilities, glass, plumbing, and refrigerant-bearing exceptions.

Mixed construction debris

Mixed construction debris is normal after a remodel, but one heavy or restricted item can change the whole load. Show us the pile, name the main materials, and point out liquids, electronics, appliances, concrete, tile, or anything unknown before pickup.

A mixed pile needs exception checks and a sorting plan: identify incompatible or hidden materials, find the dominant material, and separate what cannot share one loading or disposal path.
