Slab stone and engineered quartz
Seams, sink cutouts, overhangs, backsplash, edge build-ups, and fractured pieces affect lifting points and break risk.
Laminate and solid surface
Substrate, splash, adhesive, integrated sinks, and long L-shaped sections create bulky but lighter debris than stone.
Concrete and tile tops
Cast slabs, mortar, reinforcement, plywood base, cement board, and tile form a dense composite rather than a simple finish.
Fixtures and equipment
Sinks, toilets, tubs, disposals, cooktops, coolers, and HVAC or refrigeration components each require their own detachment and disposition check.

Plan the carry before release
A top may be removable but unable to turn through doors, stairs, or elevators intact. Define sectioning and protection before detachment.
Protect brittle edges and cutouts
Sink openings and seams concentrate stress. Intact removal for reuse requires more labor, support, and responsibility than debris break-up.
Contain porcelain, glass, and stone shards
Broken sinks, tops, mirrors, and tile create sharp dense fragments that need rigid containment and visible labeling.
04 / SEPARATION LOGIC
Protect the useful stream before it becomes mixed debris.
Mineral tops
Stone and concrete may have an aggregate or reuse path only when free of cabinets, adhesive, wood substrate, metal, and plumbing.
Metal fixtures
Stainless sinks, faucets, and cast or metal components can be separated after plumbing, sealants, nonmetal parts, and contamination are addressed.
Refrigerant equipment
Refrigerators, coolers, and air-conditioning components require a compliant recovery and documentation path; they are not ordinary mixed debris.
05 / MEASURE IT
Use the assembly’s native unit.
Record each section's length, depth, thickness, material, cutouts, and floor. List backsplashes, sinks, appliances, and fixtures separately.

Material recycling
Metal and selected clean mineral components may be recoverable after separation; engineered composites require local confirmation.
Special equipment route
Cooling and refrigeration appliances carry recovery and record duties that must remain visible through final disposal.
